| Drank 12 oz of Pirate Bomb by Prairie Artisan Ales (2018-02) | March 2nd, 2018 |
2018-03-02 Great bomb release. When it warms up it's a little much just like any similar beer. Hit with the friends. Excellent as per usual with prairie
| Drank 750 ml of Trip In The Woods: Cocoa Coconut Narwhal by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. (2017-12) | March 2nd, 2018 |
2018-03-02 Excellent. Coconut is subtle but good
| Drank 12 oz of Coffee Dino Smores by Off Color Brewing (2018-01) | February 23rd, 2018 |
| Drank 12 oz of Coffee Dino Smores by Off Color Brewing (2018-01) | February 23rd, 2018 |
| Drank 12 oz of Paradise by Prairie Artisan Ales (2017-12-28) | February 19th, 2018 |
2018-02-19 Shockingly good heavily chilled. Possibly the best drink I've ever had? Could chug it cold before I knew what hit me. As it heats up the alcohol comes through, no different from any super high abv stout. If only they got this good at 6% so you could knock back a few without them knocking you back
| Drank 12 oz of Bomb! by Prairie Artisan Ales (2018-02) | February 15th, 2018 |
2018-02-15 Given to a friend. Assuming it's excellent as usual. Spaceship earth coffee in this one
| Drank 750 ml of Pastiche by Allagash Brewing Company (2018-01) | February 15th, 2018 |
2018-02-15 A strange blend. I think the wine barrels gave it the character I didn't like much
| Drank 330 ml of Verdi Imperial Stout by Birrificio Del Ducato (2018-01) | February 13th, 2018 |
2018-02-13 Chili is actually spicy but not overpowering, the burn lingers. The underlying beer is unremarkable but pretty good
| Drank 12 oz of Mexas Ranger by Mikkeller (2018-01) | January 31st, 2018 |
2018-01-31 Hard to describe. Very complex bitterness that somehow doesn't linger like it ought to
| Drank 12 oz of Dragon's Milk Reserve: Salted Caramel by New Holland Brewing Company (2017-12) | January 21st, 2018 |
2018-01-21 Seems like it would be a fantastic dessert beer if it wasn't salted. Hard to get all the way through the bottle.
| Drank 22 oz of Eclipse - Elijah Craig 12yr by FiftyFifty Brewing Co. (2013) | January 13th, 2018 |
2018-01-13 Noticeably more mellow as a ~4 year old (2013) vs the ~2 year old (2015). First reaction was that it was better but on future reflection I could be persuaded to go either way -- older is more mellow and almost no heat, newer has a lot more bourbon and may be truer to the intended flavor profile
| Drank 22 oz of Eclipse - Elijah Craig 12yr by FiftyFifty Brewing Co. (2015) | January 13th, 2018 |
| Drank 12 oz of High West Barrel Aged Victory at Sea by Ballast Point Brewing Company (2017-12-28) | January 1st, 2018 |
2019-06-01 Surprisingly bitter but still good
2019-01-05 Lots of roasty and coffee flavor and bitterness, not a lot of sweet bourbon character, possibly more influence from the rye barrel. Little to no vanilla. Does not taste 12%
| Drank 750 ml of CBS (Canadian Breakfast Stout) by Founders Brewing (2017-12-01) | December 31st, 2017 |
2019-09-06 Not nearly as good as the other bottle. Not sure why
2019-05-23 Absolute candy. Incredible. Such easy drinking. Coffee is faint but present
2017-12-31 * Possibly the most "dessert" beer I've tasted
* Sweetness strong but not overpowering, I expect a lot it people would consider it too sweet
* Maple is very noticeable
* Wish there was more coffee
* Curious to see how it cellars
* Friends who hadn't tried KBS were wowed. (The CBS did us in... we didn't make it to the KBS I brought out for comparison)
| Drank 12 oz of Christmas Bomb by Prairie Artisan Ales (2017-12-28) | December 31st, 2017 |
2017-12-31 Cinnamon and possibly nutmeg/other wintery spices replace the usual chili here. Might be tied with birthday bomb for my favorite bomb release
